The Commanders
Blight Curse is the Jund -1/-1 counter Commander deck from Lorwyn Eclipsed. Auntie Ool, Cursewretch is a 4/4 Goblin Warlock with ward — Blight 2, meaning opponents must put two -1/-1 counters on their own creatures to target her. Whenever one or more -1/-1 counters are put on any creature, she draws a card if you control it, or that creature's controller loses one life if you don't. Every counter placed anywhere on the board either draws cards or drains opponents.
The Reaper, King No More is the alternate commander — a 3/3 Scarecrow that puts a -1/-1 counter on each of up to two target creatures when it enters, and steals any opponent's creature with a -1/-1 counter that dies. The Reaper turns the -1/-1 counter distribution into a theft engine: blight their creatures, watch them die, take them for yourself.
Key Cards
Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons
Whenever you put one or more -1/-1 counters on a creature, create a 1/1 green Snake token with deathtouch. Paired with Blowfly Infestation, this goes infinite — Blowfly Infestation triggers whenever a creature dies, putting a -1/-1 counter on another creature, which triggers Hapatra to create a Snake, which triggers Blowfly Infestation again. The loop generates unlimited Snake tokens and unlimited damage from any pingers or sacrifice outlets attached. Hapatra also generates a Snake for every Auntie Ool counter distribution, building a wide board simultaneously.
Blowfly Infestation
Whenever a creature dies, put a -1/-1 counter on target creature. Any creature death anywhere triggers a new -1/-1 counter — if that counter kills another creature, Blowfly Infestation triggers again. With Hapatra generating Snake tokens that die to the counter, the loop is self-sustaining. Even without Hapatra, Blowfly Infestation converts every creature death into a threat to another creature, slowly grinding down opponents' boards while triggering Auntie Ool's life drain on each counter placed.
The Scorpion God
A 6/5 that draws a card whenever a creature with a -1/-1 counter on it dies. When The Scorpion God dies, return it to your hand at the beginning of the next end step. In a deck where creatures die to -1/-1 counter shrinkage constantly, The Scorpion God draws a card for each death — a mass board-wide counter distribution draws several cards simultaneously. The self-recursion from hand keeps it in play indefinitely, and its natural synergy with both Hapatra and Blowfly Infestation means it draws cards off every loop iteration.
Necroskitter
Whenever a creature an opponent controls with a -1/-1 counter on it dies, you may return it to the battlefield under your control. Distributed -1/-1 counters across opponents' boards become a theft engine — wither damage or counter distribution followed by any board wipe steals every creature that dies with a counter on it. With The Reaper already doing targeted counter theft, Necroskitter expands that to everything at once. Any opponent that attacks into this deck and takes wither damage loses their attacker to Necroskitter.
Flourishing Defenses
Whenever a -1/-1 counter is placed on a creature, create a 1/1 green Elf Warrior token. Every individual counter — not just per event — creates a token. A single Auntie Ool trigger distributing counters across multiple creatures creates multiple tokens. Blowfly Infestation placing a counter on the next creature creates another Elf. Flourishing Defenses turns the counter distribution engine into board-wide token generation, fueling sacrifice outlets and providing sacrifice fodder to feed the Blowfly Infestation loop.
How to Play
Deploy Auntie Ool early and use the Blight ward as a deterrent — opponents must damage their own creatures to remove her, which costs them board presence. Begin distributing -1/-1 counters through spells and wither creatures to trigger continuous life drain. Get Hapatra and Blowfly Infestation onto the field together — that combination goes infinite and ends the game through unlimited Snake token generation and damage. The Scorpion God provides the card draw to find the combo pieces. Necroskitter and The Reaper convert opponents' weakened creatures into your own army. Win through the Hapatra plus Blowfly Infestation infinite loop, or grind opponents out through repeated life drain from Auntie Ool's counter triggers across a long midgame.
