The Commanders
Dance of the Elements is the five-color Elemental tribal Commander deck from Lorwyn Eclipsed. Ashling, the Limitless is a 2/3 Elemental Sorcerer for two red mana — but she's five-color in the command zone. Elemental permanent spells you cast from your hand gain Evoke 4, letting you cast them for four generic mana and sacrifice on entry. Whenever you sacrifice a nontoken Elemental, create a haste token copy of it until end of turn. Evoke a ten-mana Elemental for four mana, get the enters trigger, then get a haste token copy of the same Elemental attacking immediately.
Mass of Mysteries is the alternate commander — a 5/5 with first strike, vigilance, and trample for all five colors. At the beginning of combat, another Elemental you control gains Myriad until end of turn, creating token copies attacking each opponent. In a deck full of massive Elementals, Myriad on your biggest threat swings at every player simultaneously with identical copies.
Key Cards
Risen Reef
Whenever Risen Reef or another Elemental enters the battlefield under your control, look at the top card of your library. If it's a land, put it onto the battlefield tapped. Otherwise, put it into your hand. Every Elemental entry draws a card or drops a land. With Ashling evoking Elementals for cheap and generating haste token copies, each Elemental entry chains into another card, which finds the next Elemental. Risen Reef converts the Elemental enter triggers into a self-fueling hand and mana advantage engine.
Omnath, Locus of the Roil
When Omnath enters, it deals damage to any target equal to the number of Elementals you control. Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, put a +1/+1 counter on target Elemental. Each land drop grows an Elemental on the board. With Risen Reef dropping lands repeatedly, Omnath's counter distribution feeds Ashling's haste token copies — each token enters with the counters already accumulated on the original. On entry, the damage ping scales with the Elemental count, often dealing six to twelve damage immediately in the mid-game.
Yarok, the Desecrated
If a permanent entering the battlefield causes a triggered ability to trigger, that ability triggers an additional time. Doubles every Elemental enters trigger in the deck. Risen Reef draws two cards per Elemental entry. Omnath deals its damage twice on entry. Every Incarnation's enters trigger fires twice. With Ashling evoking Elementals and generating haste copies, a single evoke event triggers Risen Reef twice, Omnath twice, and any other ETB payoff twice — producing explosive card advantage and damage in a single action.
Smokebraider
Tap to add two mana of any combination of colors — but only to cast Elemental spells or activate Elemental abilities. A two-drop that produces two mana toward any Elemental in the deck. Ashling's Evoke 4 cost drops to effectively Evoke 2 with one Smokebraider active. With two Smokebraiders, most large Elementals cost nothing when evoking through Ashling. Smokebraider is the acceleration that makes Ashling's engine run ahead of schedule — by turn four instead of turn seven.
Horde of Notions
A 5/5 with vigilance, trample, and haste for five mana. Pay one of each color to play any Elemental card from any graveyard without paying its mana cost. Ashling's evoke lines fill the graveyard with sacrificed Elementals. Horde of Notions recasts each of them for free — retrieving evokers for their enters triggers, redeploying Incarnations for Encore activations, and getting any key Elemental back into play. Horde acts as the graveyard reset that refuels Ashling's engine after the first wave of evoke plays.
How to Play
Deploy Smokebraider on turn two to begin accelerating into Ashling on turn three. Once Ashling is active, start evoking large Elementals for four mana to get their enters triggers and receive haste token copies immediately. Risen Reef draws cards off each entry. Drop Yarok to double all the triggers. Mid-game, the Incarnation cycle provides powerful one-shot effects with Encore for a second wave. Yarok doubling Omnath's entry damage while a full board of Elementals hits for six to twelve direct damage on entry is a common way to kill one player immediately. Win through the sheer density of enters triggers — with Yarok active and Risen Reef drawing cards, every Ashling evoke is a multi-trigger explosive turn that generates more value than opponents can match.
