Legends' Legacy (DMC).
A four-color legendary-matters deck led by Dihada, Binder of Wills — play iconic legendary creatures from Magic's history, protect them with Dihada's vigilance and lifelink, and drain the table with legendary creature death triggers.
The Commanders
Legends' Legacy is a four-color Commander deck themed around Dominaria's legendary history. The deck plays a dense suite of iconic legendary creatures from across Magic's past and present, uses Dihada to protect them with vigilance and lifelink, and wins through the raw power of having the most impactful legendary threats in play simultaneously. It's a "greatest hits" deck that rewards knowing which legends matter in which situations.
Dihada, Binder of Wills is a planeswalker commander with four loyalty. Her +2 puts four cards from the top of your library into exile face down with shield counters, and until your next turn you may play them. Her -3 gains control of target legendary permanent. Her -11 ultimate creates an emblem that gives all legendary creatures vigilance, lifelink, and haste and makes them indestructible. Dihada provides card advantage, interaction, and a game-ending ultimate that makes your legends untouchable.
Shanid, Sleepers' Scourge is the aggressive alternative. He's a legendary Menace creature that gives all your other legendary creatures menace and draws you a card whenever you play a legendary land or cast a legendary spell. In a deck full of legendary permanents, Shanid draws cards constantly while making your entire team very difficult to block.
Key Cards
Etali, Primal Storm
Whenever Etali attacks, exile the top card of each other player's library and you may cast those cards without paying their mana cost. In a four-player game, three free spells per attack. Etali is the deck's most explosively powerful legendary creature. Each attack deploys opponents' best spells for free, refueling your hand while depleting theirs. With Dihada's ultimate giving Etali indestructible, vigilance, and haste, he becomes an unkillable value machine.
Alesha, Who Smiles at Death
Whenever Alesha attacks, pay two mana and return target creature card with power two or less from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped and attacking. She's a reanimation engine on a three-mana first striker. Reanimate Etali off Alesha's attack trigger and get three free spells immediately. Alesha converts the deck's graveyard into a second hand of legendary creatures that attack the turn they return.
Heroes' Podium
Each legendary creature you control gets +1/+1 for each other legendary creature you control. With eight legendary creatures in play, each one gets +7/+7. Heroes' Podium also lets you look at the top card of your library — if it's legendary, put it into your hand. Repeatable tutor for any legendary in the deck at one mana per activation. The pump ability scales with legendary density and the tutor keeps finding threats.
Blackblade Reforged
Equipment that gives the equipped creature +1/+1 for each land you control. Equip to any legendary creature and swing for massive damage. Equip to Etali on a turn where you have twelve lands and attack for a 15/15 with trample. Blackblade is one of the most efficient equipment pieces in the deck and provides a consistent high-power attack regardless of which legendary it's attached to.
Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion
Has trample. Whenever Neheb deals combat damage to a player or planeswalker, discard any number of cards, then draw that many. Add red mana equal to the damage he dealt. He replaces your hand and generates mana equal to his damage output. With a large Blackblade Reforged and twelve lands, dealing twelve damage with Neheb generates twelve red mana — enough to cast your entire hand again. He's the deck's most powerful mana engine.
How to Play
Cast legendary creatures every turn starting from turn two. Get Shanid online to draw cards off each legendary spell. Build a board of legends with diverse abilities — Alesha for recursion, Etali for free spells, Neheb for mana. Use Dihada's +2 to exile the top four cards and play them immediately, effectively drawing four cards per turn.
Win through Dihada's ultimate making your entire legendary team indestructible with vigilance, haste, and lifelink, or through Etali attacking repeatedly for three free spells per turn once the board stabilizes. Heroes' Podium makes your legends unblockably large once six or seven are in play. The deck rewards playing legendary creatures as early and often as possible — every legend helps every other legend.
