Jump Scare! (DSC).
A Simic lands-and-manifest deck from Duskmourn. Zimone, Mystery Unraveler turns every land drop into a face-down 2/2, then flips your hidden creatures for value.
The Commanders
Jump Scare! is the Simic manifest deck from Duskmourn, and it wants two things on the table at once: lands and mystery. You ramp hard, drop extra lands, and every one of those drops hides a card face down or flips one you already have. The board fills with anonymous 2/2s, and half the fun is your opponents having no idea which one is a Worldspine Wurm.
Zimone, Mystery Unraveler ties the whole thing to your land drops. The first land you play each turn manifests dread, so you dig two deep, keep one face down as a 2/2, and bin the other. Every land after that lets you flip a face-down permanent up instead. Get a second land drop going with Aesi or Exploration effects and Zimone reads as "manifest, then unmorph something huge for free." Chain enough landfall and you are turning a 2/2 into a bomb every turn while stocking the board with more.
Key Cards
Whisperwood Elemental
Every end step it manifests the top card of your library, so you get a free 2/2 each turn with no help from your land drops. That is a steady stream of bodies for Zimone to flip and for your face-up payoffs to reward. Its sacrifice ability also hands your face-up nontoken creatures a dying wish: when they die, manifest again. Crack it in response to a board wipe and you rebuild the whole board face down.
Trail of Mystery
This is the payoff that makes manifesting worth doing. Whenever a face-down creature enters, you tutor a basic land to hand, which keeps the land drops coming and feeds Zimone's landfall. When you flip a face-down creature up, it gets +2/+2 until end of turn, so an unassuming 2/2 swings as a 4/4 and trades up. It rewards both halves of what the deck is already doing.
They Came from the Pipes
It manifests dread twice on entry, so you land two 2/2s and dig four cards deep right away. After that, every face-down creature that enters draws you a card. Pair it with Whisperwood Elemental or a run of land drops and you are drawing off bodies you were making anyway. It turns the manifest plan into a card engine instead of just a pile of vanilla 2/2s.
Tatyova, Benthic Druid
Tatyova pays you a card and a life every time a land enters. In a deck built to squeeze out extra land drops, that adds up fast. Drop your Zimone land, drop a second one off Growth Spiral, and Tatyova has already refilled your hand. She keeps the deck from stalling once the manifest engine gets going, so you never run out of gas.
Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait
Aesi hands you an extra land each turn and draws a card off every land that enters. That second land drop is the key to Zimone: the first land manifests, the second one flips something face up. Aesi turns her landfall clause into a real engine and refills your hand at the same time. It also stacks with Tatyova, so a single land drop can draw you two cards.
Scute Swarm
Every land drop makes a 1/1 Insect, and once you control six lands each landfall copies the whole swarm instead. In a ramp deck that plays extra lands, the token count gets out of hand quickly. Those Insects are fine chump blockers and fine attackers once you find an anthem or an Overwhelming Stampede. It is the fastest way this deck goes wide.
How to Play
Mulligan for a ramp spell and a land or two so your drops start early. Get Zimone down and use her first-land manifest to bank 2/2s while you chase a second land drop from Aesi, Growth Spiral, or Exploration effects, since that second drop is what flips your hidden bombs face up. Trail of Mystery and They Came from the Pipes turn all those face-down bodies into cards and lands, and Tatyova keeps your hand full off the land drops. Your best turns manifest a monster and unmorph it the same turn for a free Worldspine Wurm or Multani. When the board gets wide, hold up Whisperwood Elemental so a wrath just refills you, then swing with an Overwhelming Stampede to close.
