The Commanders

Aminatou, Veil Piercer

Miracle Worker is an Esper enchantment deck from Duskmourn: House of Horror. Aminatou rewards stacking the top of your library and playing enchantments, which welds two of Esper's best themes into one game plan. Scry effects, Brainstorm, Ponder, and other top-of-library tools keep the right enchantment or answer sitting on top when you need it, and the enchantress package turns that into a pile of cards.

Aminatou, Veil Piercer works off your top card, paying you off for revealing or casting it from the top of your library. That makes every turn feel scripted: you know what is coming and it is usually good. Paired with enchantment payoffs like Mesa Enchantress and Ondu Spiritdancer, she turns your draw step into a card advantage engine that scales with how many enchantments you run.

Key Cards

Mesa Enchantress

Mesa Enchantress

The best ongoing draw engine in the deck. Mesa Enchantress draws a card every time you cast an enchantment. With 20-plus enchantments in the list, she is worth three to five extra cards a turn once things get going. The loop feeds itself: enchantments draw cards, those cards are enchantments, and they draw more. Opponents tend to kill her on sight, because almost nothing else in the precon snowballs this fast.

Ondu Spiritdancer

Ondu Spiritdancer

A newer enchantress that copies auras as you cast them. Whenever you cast an aura, Ondu Spiritdancer makes a token copy of it attached to another target. Every aura you cast now does double duty: one Ethereal Armor becomes two, one protection aura becomes two. In a deck that already draws off enchantments, that doubles the output. She is one of the best reasons to run this enchantress shell instead of a plainer control build.

Sphere of Safety

Sphere of Safety

The deck's best defensive enchantment. Sphere of Safety taxes each attacker aimed at you by one mana for every enchantment you control. With 10 to 15 enchantments in play, that is 10 to 15 extra mana per attacker, which nobody pays. It buys the time the deck needs to set up its engine without answering attacks one by one. That pillow fort is what lets you play a slow, grindy advantage game instead of trading blows.

Brainstorm

Brainstorm

The deck's best cantrip and top-of-library tool. Brainstorm draws three cards, then puts two back on top. Since Aminatou rewards your top card, those two go-backs set up your next two draws. Follow it with a fetchland or another shuffle and Brainstorm just draws three fresh cards. This one-mana instant is the consistency that finds your enchantresses early and your answers on time.

One with the Multiverse

One with the Multiverse

The deck's biggest top-end enchantment. One with the Multiverse is a nine-mana enchantment that lets you play with the top card of your library revealed and cast one card from it for free each turn. In a deck built around the top of your library, that roughly doubles your mana each turn. Between Aminatou and the enchantress draw, you find it reliably in the late game, and once it resolves you close from a position nobody can crack.

Zur, Eternal Schemer

Zur, Eternal Schemer

An alternative commander and a big enchantment payoff. Zur, Eternal Schemer gives your non-aura enchantments power and toughness equal to their mana value and turns them into creatures. Sphere of Safety becomes a 5/5. Serra's Sanctum becomes a tapped 3/3. Now your defensive enchantments are also your attackers, and any removal aimed at one takes out both the wall and the threat in a single card.

How to Play

Mulligan hard for Brainstorm, Ponder, or another one-mana cantrip next to a Mesa Enchantress or Setessan Champion. Get the enchantress down on turn two or three, then start chaining enchantments and drawing off them. Sphere of Safety goes down early to wave off attacks. Aminatou can wait until you have mana to protect her, since she is strong but not required on turn three.

The mid-game is about stacking enough enchantments behind Sphere of Safety that nobody can attack you, then turning your card lead into a win. One line is Zur, Eternal Schemer swinging with a board of animated enchantments. Another is One with the Multiverse handing you free casts every turn. This deck rewards patience. It is slow to set up, but once the enchantress engine is churning out four or more cards a turn behind a Sphere wall, it is very hard to beat.
