commander · T'Challa, the Black Panther
Wakanda Forever (MSC).
A Selesnya artifacts deck that churns out indestructible Vibranium tokens and rewards big artifact casts. T'Challa, the Black Panther banks Vibranium and grows on every four-mana artifact, while Shuri, the Black Panther turns a wide artifact count into card draw and a team pump.
The Commanders
Wakanda Forever is a Selesnya artifacts deck powered by Vibranium tokens. Vibranium is an indestructible artifact that taps for colorless mana toward more artifacts, so the deck ramps into expensive gear while building an artifact count that its payoffs care about. The plan is to flood the board with metal, cast a few big artifacts, and swing with a team that keeps growing.
T'Challa, the Black Panther is the token generator. He makes a Vibranium token when he enters and again every time he attacks, which fills your board and your mana. Whenever you cast an artifact with mana value four or greater, he grows by two counters, so the four-mana gear the deck is full of turns him into a real threat while it ramps you. He builds the artifact count and cashes it in at the same time.
Shuri, the Black Panther is the payoff commander. She has lifelink, and when she attacks with three or more artifacts out she draws you a card. Push to six or more artifacts and her attack pumps your whole team by two. With Vibranium tokens flowing that threshold is easy to hit, and once it does every Shuri swing draws a card and threatens a lethal alpha strike.
Key Cards
Zuri, Warrior of Wakanda
Zuri puts a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control every time you cast an artifact with mana value four or greater. The deck is built around those exact casts, so Zuri can pump the whole team two or three times in a game. At two mana she comes down early and rewards the ramp you were doing anyway. Stack her with T'Challa and one big artifact grows the entire board.
W'Kabi, Shield of the Nation
W'Kabi makes a 4/4 trampling Rhino whenever you attack with your commander, as long as you control an artifact with mana value four or greater. In this deck that condition is almost always met, so every commander attack adds a big body to the board. He turns your Panthers into a token factory and keeps the pressure climbing turn after turn.
Shuri's Fabricator
The Fabricator makes two Vibranium tokens the moment it lands, which is a big jump in both mana and artifact count. Later it recurs an artifact from your graveyard with a finality counter, so you can rebuy a bomb like Gilded Lotus or a key Equipment. It pushes you past Shuri's six-artifact threshold in a single card while setting up the late game.
The Spear of Bashenga
The Spear makes you the monarch when it enters, so you start drawing an extra card each turn. The equipped creature gets +2/+2 and vigilance, and when it attacks the monarch it destroys a tapped nonland permanent that player controls. Since the deck hands the monarchy around and attacks into it, the Spear doubles as removal on a stick while it grows your attacker.
Okoye, Mighty and Adored
Okoye crowns you the monarch when she enters and puts a counter on a creature at the start of each combat. If that creature attacks the monarch, it gains double strike and trample for the turn. Point the counter at a Vibranium-fueled beater and you have a double-striking threat that also defends your crown. She ties the deck's monarch subtheme to its counter plan.
Divine Visitation
Divine Visitation turns every token you would make into a 4/4 flying Angel with vigilance. In a deck that spits out Vibranium tokens, Rhinos, and Soldiers, that is an army of Angels almost overnight. It converts the deck's mana ramp into a lethal air force, and it is the kind of build-around bomb worth protecting once it resolves.
How to Play
Ramp early with Vibranium makers and mana rocks so you can land four-mana artifacts ahead of schedule. Each of those casts feeds T'Challa and Zuri, so a single big artifact can grow your whole board while you build toward Shuri's six-artifact payoff. Grab the monarchy with Okoye, Queen Mother Ramonda, or the Spear and let the extra cards keep you ahead. Your kill usually comes from a wide board plus a Shuri swing or an Overwhelming Stampede, and Divine Visitation is the ceiling if you can protect it. Keep making tokens, keep the crown, and turn all that metal into damage.
