The Commanders

Shorikai, Genesis Engine
Shorikai, Genesis Engine · Art by Magali Villeneuve

Buckle Up is the vehicle Commander precon from Neon Dynasty and it delivers on the theme. Kotori gives all your vehicles crew 2 and, at the beginning of combat on your turn, one artifact creature gains lifelink and vigilance. That means every vehicle you've crewed hits for lifelink damage and can block without tapping. The deck is built to swarm vehicles, pilot them cheaply, and swing through with buffed, protected crew.

Kotori, Pilot Prodigy cuts the crew cost on everything, turning expensive pilots like Parhelion II from nine bodies needed down to two. The lifelink and vigilance grant each combat lets you stay healthy while swinging for big damage.

Shorikai, Genesis Engine is the alternative when you want raw card advantage. Pay two and tap a creature: draw two and discard one, then create a 1/1 pilot token. Shorikai is a vehicle itself but doesn't need to be crewed to activate. It's a draw engine that generates its own pilots and wins grind games through card quality.

Key Cards

Parhelion II
Art by Slawomir Maniak

Parhelion II

One of the most powerful vehicles ever printed. Parhelion II is a 5/5 flyer with first strike that creates two 4/4 Angel tokens with vigilance and lifelink when it attacks. With Kotori reducing crew to 2, you crew Parhelion II for two creatures, attack for 5 first strike, and generate eight power worth of lifelink vigilance tokens that stick around. The token Angels also satisfy crew costs for other vehicles next turn.

Sai, Master Thopterist
Art by Kieran Yanner

Sai, Master Thopterist

Whenever you cast an artifact spell, create a 1/1 thopter token. Sacrifice two artifacts to draw a card. In a deck full of vehicles, Sai generates a pilot token for every vehicle you cast, giving you crew fodder automatically. Sacrificing two cheap artifacts at instant speed draws a card, converting excess crew tokens into card advantage. Sai turns every vehicle cast into a two-for-one.

Mechtitan Core
Art by Magali Villeneuve

Mechtitan Core

Tap Mechtitan Core and four other artifacts or vehicles to exile them all and create the Mechtitan, a 10/10 with flying, vigilance, trample, lifelink, and haste. When the Mechtitan dies or is exiled, all five pieces return to the battlefield. This is the deck's biggest threat and the hardest to permanently answer. Opponents must exile the token itself or watch a 10/10 with every keyword attack and the pieces return anyway.

Emry, Lurker of the Loch
Art by Livia Prima

Emry, Lurker of the Loch

Emry mills four cards when she enters and lets you cast artifact spells from your graveyard by tapping. In a vehicle deck where your best threats are artifacts, Emry converts milling into gas: vehicles land in the bin and she recasts them for free. Combined with Sai, every recasted vehicle generates a thopter token. Emry also gets cheaper to cast for each artifact in your graveyard, so mid-game she often costs just one blue mana.

Kappa Cannoneer
Art by Ilse Gort

Kappa Cannoneer

Improvise lets each artifact you tap reduce Kappa Cannoneer's cost by one. In a deck with six to eight artifacts in play, Kappa Cannoneer effectively costs zero or one. It gets a +1/+1 counter whenever you cast an artifact spell and has ward 4, making it very difficult to remove profitably. A well-built artifact board means Kappa Cannoneer hits the table for free, grows every turn, and taxes removal at four mana.

How to Play

Establish the vehicle base in turns two through four: deploy cheap creatures that crew efficiently, then land Kotori to reduce all crew costs to 2. Parhelion II is your primary mid-game bomb: crew it with two tokens from Sai or Shorikai, attack for 5 first strike, and generate eight lifelink power in tokens. Mechtitan Core is the closing threat. Save it for a board state where you have four other artifacts to sacrifice, then drop a 10/10 with every keyword. Shorikai in the command zone gives you a draw engine if games go long. Win by overwhelming opponents with vehicle attacks backed by lifelink life gain and ward-heavy threats that demand disproportionate mana to answer.
