Mechanics
Station
Tap another creature you control to put charge counters equal to its power on a Spacecraft, at sorcery speed. Once it reaches its station number the Spacecraft becomes an artifact creature. Crew, but the progress sticks between turns.
Spacecraft
Spacecraft are the set new artifact subtype and the thing station charges up. They sit on the battlefield doing something small until they hit their threshold, then turn into a threat.
Landfall
Landfall triggers whenever a land enters under your control. The Jund deck recurs lands out of the graveyard on purpose, so each one can trigger landfall more than once per game.
Improvise
Tap artifacts to help cast a spell. In a deck that keeps a pile of artifacts around waiting to be stationed, they can pay for something else in the meantime.
The set
Edge of Eternities is Magic doing science fiction, and station is the mechanic carrying it. Unlike crew, station accumulates. You tap a creature this turn, another next turn, and the Spacecraft keeps its charge counters until it reaches the number printed on it.
The two Commander decks split between that artifact plan and a land sacrifice engine that has nothing to do with space and everything to do with Jund value. Both are two card commander pairs, so each has a second legend in the box to lead with.
Station rewards a board you were building anyway. Tapping a creature is a real cost on the turn you do it, but the counters stay put, so a Spacecraft that looked useless two turns ago suddenly flips into an artifact creature at exactly the wrong moment for an opponent. Proliferate speeds that up, which is why the Jeskai deck runs so much of it.
The Jund deck is the more conventionally powerful of the two. Lands are the one resource nobody expects you to recycle, and a deck that sacrifices its own lands for value and then replays them from the graveyard gets two triggers out of a card most decks only use once.
Where to start
World Shaper is the stronger box out of the wrapper. Counter Intelligence is more fun if proliferate is your thing, though it needs the Spacecraft to survive a turn cycle to pay off.
