Revival Trance (FIC).
A Mardu reanimator deck led by Terra, Herald of Hope, dump powerful creatures into the graveyard, reanimate them for massive tempo swings, and grind opponents out with recurring threats.
The Commanders
Revival Trance is a Mardu reanimator deck themed around Final Fantasy VI. The plan is to fill your graveyard as fast as possible through discard outlets, mill effects, and self-sacrifice, then spend Reanimate, Stitch Together, or Priest of Fell Rites to cheat expensive creatures into play at a fraction of their mana cost. Terra herself powers the recursion loop and rewards you for doing what the deck already wants to do.
Terra, Herald of Hope is the engine. She leans on the reanimation theme by generating value when creatures enter or leave the graveyard. Terra bridges the gap between filling your graveyard and profiting from it. She turns every reanimation target into extra advantage and makes the grind game hard for opponents to outlast.
Key Cards
Kefka, Dancing Mad
The deck's signature bomb target. Kefka is a Final Fantasy VI villain reimagined as a devastating reanimation target. He generates triggers when he enters and when other creatures die, which makes him excellent in a sacrifice-friendly shell. Cheat him into play on turn three or four via Reanimate and the table is immediately under pressure. He rewards the deck's death-trigger package and is one of the most on-theme powerful threats in the precon.
Sun Titan
The deck's most resilient recursion engine. Sun Titan enters the battlefield and attacks to return any permanent with mana value three or less from your graveyard to the battlefield. That includes mana rocks, utility creatures, and key enchantments. In a deck that regularly fills the graveyard, Sun Titan re-buys value pieces every turn it attacks. Getting this into play early via Priest of Fell Rites creates immediate card advantage that compounds over time.
Reanimate
One mana to put any creature from any graveyard into play. This is the most efficient reanimation spell in the game, and having it in a precon is significant. Getting a seven-mana creature into play on turn two pays for the life loss many times over. Reanimate also hits opponents' graveyards. If an opponent puts a better target in their graveyard than anything in yours, take it. The deck runs Stitch Together and Necromancy alongside Reanimate for maximum redundancy.
Pitiless Plunderer
Treasure generation from creature death. Every time a creature you control dies, Pitiless Plunderer creates a Treasure token. In a reanimator deck that regularly sacrifices or cycles through creatures, this generates substantial mana advantage. Those Treasures pay for your reanimation spells, letting you chain reanimate effects in the same turn. Plunderer turns each death trigger into ramp, which in a sacrifice-heavy shell means he effectively pays for himself many times over.
Sepulchral Primordial
One of the most powerful reanimation targets in the deck. When Sepulchral Primordial enters the battlefield, it lets you put a creature card from each opponent's graveyard onto the battlefield under your control with haste. Against most Commander pods that run their own powerful creatures, this is effectively three free creatures in addition to the Primordial itself. Cheat this into play via Reanimate on turn three and you've stolen the best threats your opponents have discarded or killed.
Stitcher's Supplier
The deck's best graveyard filler. Stitcher's Supplier is a one-mana creature that mills three cards when it enters and three more when it dies. Six cards into the graveyard from one mana is exceptional setup for a reanimator deck. It fills the graveyard with targets before you have the mana to reanimate, which means your Reanimates and Stitch Togethers have something to grab as early as turn two. Sacrifice it to a free outlet to mill the second batch on demand.
How to Play
The first two turns are about establishing Stitcher's Supplier and other graveyard fillers while deploying mana rocks. You want three or four fat creatures in your graveyard by turn three. Turn three is when you fire your first Reanimate or Priest of Fell Rites, ideally cheating in Sepulchral Primordial, Kefka, or Sun Titan.
From there the deck grinds. Reanimate creatures, sacrifice them when convenient, put them back in the graveyard, reanimate them again. Pitiless Plunderer generates the mana to keep the loop going. Terra generates value every time a creature enters from the graveyard. The win condition is attrition: the deck rebuilds faster than opponents can keep up. Close games by swinging with reanimated threats in multiples, or drain the table with repeated death triggers from Morbid Opportunist and Zulaport Cutthroat effects.
