Tidus, Yuna's Guardian
A Bant +1/+1 counters deck from the Final Fantasy Commander set. Tidus, Yuna's Guardian shuffles counters around your team and turns every hit into cards and proliferate triggers.
Four decks pulled from across the Final Fantasy games, built on Equipment, Sagas, counters and reanimation.
When an Equipment with job select enters, it creates a 1/1 colorless Hero token and attaches itself to it. Your Equipment brings its own wielder, which is why the Naya deck can lead on Equipment without flooding out.
A tiered spell asks you to choose one additional cost, so the same card can be cast small early or large later. It smooths out draws in a format where mana availability swings wildly.
Sagas are enchantments that tick through chapters over successive turns. The set uses them to retell scenes from the games, and they show up across all four decks.
Equipment is the connective tissue of the set. The Naya deck stacks it on one creature, and job select keeps a body around to carry it.
Final Fantasy is the largest Universes Beyond crossover Magic has done, and the Commander decks each take a different corner of the series. Mechanically it is an Equipment and Saga set: gear defines the characters, and Sagas replay their stories.
Job select is the design that ties those together. An Equipment that shows up with its own Hero attached means the voltron deck does not sit there holding a sword and no arm. Tiered spells give the rest of the decks a way to spend spare mana.
Limit Break is the one people buy for the theme and keep for the games it wins on turn seven. Revival Trance has the highest ceiling because reanimation targets are the easiest upgrade in the format.
