commander · Olivia, Opulent Outlaw
Most Wanted (OTC).
A Mardu outlaws-and-treasures aristocrats deck led by Olivia, Opulent Outlaw, generate Treasure tokens from creatures connecting in combat, stack counters on your best threats, and drain opponents through sacrifice synergies.
The Commanders
Most Wanted is a Mardu deck from Outlaws of Thunder Junction built around the set's Outlaw types: Assassins, Mercenaries, Pirates, Rogues, and Warlocks. Olivia, Opulent Outlaw makes Treasure tokens when Outlaws deal combat damage to players, then lets you spend those Treasures for +1/+1 counters on your creatures. The aristocrats package turns that growing board into life drain through Fain the Broker, Bastion of Remembrance, and Vihaan, Goldwaker.
Olivia, Opulent Outlaw turns every Outlaw that connects into Treasure and lets you cash those Treasures in to grow your creatures. She rewards a wide, varied Outlaw board, so combat makes Treasure and stacks counters at the same time. The more Outlaws that get through, the faster your board scales.
Key Cards
Vihaan, Goldwaker
Turns Treasures into 3/3 attackers. On your turn, Vihaan makes all your Treasures into 3/3 Mercenary creatures with haste while they stay artifacts. In a deck that makes ten to fifteen Treasures a game, that is an instant army of hasty 3/3s, and each one is an Outlaw that triggers Olivia when it connects. After combat the Treasures go back to being artifacts and you can crack them for mana. Nothing else in the deck opens up combat this hard.
Fain, the Broker
A sacrifice outlet that spins counters into Treasure. Fain lets you remove a +1/+1 counter from a creature to make a Treasure token, sacrifice a creature to put a +1/+1 counter on another creature, or sacrifice a Treasure to make a 1/1 token. Those three abilities form a little loop: counters into Treasures, Treasures into tokens, creatures into counters, all feeding on Olivia turning spent Treasure back into counters. Fain is the most flexible sacrifice outlet in the deck.
Queen Marchesa
Deathtouch, haste, and a steady stream of Assassin tokens. Queen Marchesa enters and makes you the Monarch. While you hold it, you draw a card at your upkeep, and if an opponent hits you and takes the Monarch away, you get a 1/1 deathtouch Assassin token at your next upkeep. Those Assassins are Outlaws, so they trigger Olivia when they connect. The Monarch draws you cards while you have it and hands you Assassins when you lose it, so either way you come out ahead.
Rankle, Master of Pranks
A flying, haste creature that, when he connects, lets you pick any of three effects for everyone: each player discards a card, each player sacrifices a creature, or each player draws a card and loses 1 life. Rankle is a Rogue, so he counts as an Outlaw for Olivia, and the chaos he causes hurts opponents more than you. Take the sacrifice mode against a creature-heavy board, the discard mode against a control deck sitting on cards, or the draw-and-drain mode to chip everyone down. That menu of options makes him good against any pod.
Bandit's Haul
A new Outlaws of Thunder Junction card that makes Treasure off Outlaw triggers. Bandit's Haul creates Treasures and scales up as your Outlaw count climbs. In a deck that wants to fire as many Outlaw combat triggers as it can for Olivia, it speeds up Treasure production and stocks the Treasure count Vihaan needs for his army of 3/3s. It is one of the new cards built to push the Outlaws theme.
How to Play
Spend the first three turns on mana rocks and cheap Outlaws. Olivia lands on turn four. Turn five, attack with your Outlaws to make Treasures, then spend some of them on counters through Olivia. Vihaan wants to come down on turn five or six: the moment he lands with five-plus Treasures around, swing with a pack of 3/3 hasty creatures that trigger Olivia again and feed the engine.
The aristocrats kill comes together on its own. Fain, the Broker and Bastion of Remembrance mop up the death triggers while combat keeps making Treasures and counters, and Queen Marchesa's Monarch keeps cards flowing. Win with combat damage from a board of pumped Outlaws and Vihaan's animated Treasures, or, once your board is too wide for anyone to survive, close with sacrifice drain off all those stacked-up death triggers.
