commander · Morophon, the Boundless
Everyone's Invited! (SLD).
A five-color changeling tribal deck from Secret Lair. Every creature counts as every type, so Morophon, the Boundless names one tribe and the whole board cashes in the payoffs at once.
The Commanders
Everyone's Invited is a five-color changeling deck, which is a strange thing to say out loud. Changeling means a card is every creature type at once, so a board full of Shapeshifters counts as Elves and Slivers and Goblins and Dragons all at the same time. That lets the deck run every tribal payoff ever printed and have all of them work on the same creatures. Pick a type, and suddenly your whole team qualifies.
Morophon, the Boundless is a 7/7 changeling that names a creature type as it enters. Spells of that type cost you five generic less on the colored side, which for a changeling deck means basically every creature you cast gets a discount. On top of that, your other creatures of the chosen type get +1/+1. Because your board is already every type, whatever you name applies to almost everything you own. He is a lord and a cost reducer stapled to one body.
Key Cards
Maskwood Nexus
Maskwood Nexus makes every creature you control every creature type, which turns your non-changelings into changelings and makes the whole deck cohere. That matters when you draw a lord like Feline Sovereign or Kinsbaile Cavalier that would otherwise only touch a few cards. It also taps to make a 2/2 Shapeshifter token whenever you want another body. This is the card that pulls the theme together.
Coat of Arms
Coat of Arms gives every creature +1/+1 for each other creature that shares a type with it. In most decks the buff is modest. Here every one of your creatures shares every type with every other creature, so a board of five changelings each gets +4/+4, a board of eight gets +7/+7. It scales out of control fast and it is one of the deck's cleanest ways to end a game through combat.
Kindred Discovery
Kindred Discovery names a type and draws you a card whenever a creature of that type enters or attacks. With changelings, every creature you play and every creature that swings triggers it. Cast a few one and two-drops in a turn and you are refilling your hand while you develop the board. It is the engine that keeps the deck from running out of gas.
Mirror Entity
Mirror Entity is a changeling that pays X to set all your creatures to X/X and give them every type. It is a mana sink that turns a wide board of small tokens into a lethal alpha strike out of nowhere. Even at X of four or five it can push way more damage than opponents expect. Keep it back, untap with open mana, and swing.
Realmwalker
Realmwalker is a changeling that names a type and lets you cast creature spells of that type off the top of your library. Since your creatures are all every type, name whatever you like and you get to play the top of your deck as extra cards every turn. That is a steady flow of free-ish creatures without spending a card from hand. It quietly doubles your draws in a deck that wants to flood the board.
Kindred Summons
Kindred Summons names a type, then digs until it finds as many creatures of that type as you already control and drops them all onto the battlefield. In this deck that count is your whole board, so a wide turn can double your creature count for free. Cast it after a couple of lords are down and the follow-up is brutal. It is the deck's big swing spell.
How to Play
Spend the early turns building a base of cheap changelings and a mana rock or two. You want a lord effect or a draw engine like Kindred Discovery online by the mid game so the board starts snowballing. Land Morophon, name the type that hits the most of your team, and let the discount and the buff carry you into a wide board. From there Coat of Arms or Mirror Entity closes fast, and Kindred Summons refills the board if someone throws a wrath at you. The plan is simple: go wide, name a type, and swing with a team that all counts as everything.
