Mechanics
One deck per drop
Secret Lair decks are sold individually rather than as a batch of four or five, so each one is built around a single idea with no sibling decks to balance against.
Alternate art printings
The draw of a Secret Lair is the art treatment. Mechanically these are reprints, so the decks live or die on how well the gimmick holds up in play.
Coin flips and changelings
Two of the drops are built on mechanics no normal precon would use as a centerpiece: flipping coins until you lose, and a deck where every creature is every creature type.
The set
Secret Lair Commander decks are the odd ones out. They arrive as individual drops rather than a seasonal batch, and each one commits fully to a single idea instead of covering a color pie slot.
That makes them more interesting to read about than most precons. A coin flip deck and a Shrine based alternate win condition deck would never survive a normal product review, but as standalone drops they work. The tradeoff is availability: these were print to order, so getting one now means the secondary market.
Where to start
Raining Cats and Dogs is the most playable of the six at a normal table. Heads I Win, Tails You Lose is the one worth owning if your pod enjoys a game that nobody, including you, can predict.

A five-color changeling tribal deck from Secret Lair. Every creature counts as every type, so Morophon, the Boundless names one tribe and the whole board cashes in the payoffs at once.
Esika, God of the Tree
A five-color double-faced card deck from Secret Lair, led by Esika, God of the Tree, put legendary creatures into play off The Prismatic Bridge, or use Esika's front face to generate mana from your legendary permanents.
Zada, Hedron Grinder
A mono-red Secret Lair Commander deck led by Zada, Hedron Grinder, copy one cheap pump spell onto a board of goblins and turn a single card into twenty.
