commander · Shiko and Narset, Unified
Jeskai Striker (TDC).
A Jeskai spellslinger deck led by Shiko and Narset, Unified, cast instants and sorceries to flood the board with tokens, copy your spells, and win through sheer volume of triggers.
The Commanders
Jeskai Striker is a Tarkir: Dragonstorm deck built around casting spells and getting paid for it. Every instant and sorcery you cast makes tokens, generates Treasure, and copies your other spells, so a modest hand of cantrips turns into a lethal board. The deck rewards you for going wide on the stack, not just on the board.
Shiko and Narset, Unified is the primary commander and the reason to play the deck. This dual legend pays you every time you cast a noncreature spell, and the triggers stack. With a full hand of cheap spells, Shiko and Narset can build a threatening board from nothing in a single turn.
Elsha, Threefold Master is the alternative when you want more combo potential. Elsha lets you cast instants and sorceries from the top of your library with flash, which chains spells that Shiko and Narset can capitalize on. Elsha is the greedier, higher-ceiling option in slower, grindier pods.
Key Cards
Young Pyromancer
The most efficient token generator in the deck. Every instant or sorcery you cast creates a 1/1 Elemental. On its own it is a 2/1 for two mana and looks underwhelming, but in a deck that casts six spells in a turn, Young Pyromancer creates six 1/1s. It scales with your spell density and punishes opponents who wait too long to remove it. Attack with the tokens to stay aggressive or sacrifice them for value later.
Storm-Kiln Artist
Storm-Kiln Artist creates a Treasure token every time you cast or copy an instant or sorcery. In a deck built to chain spells, every spell you cast funds the next one, so your turn pays for itself. The Artist also gets +1/+1 for each spell cast or copied, and it becomes a real attacker over a long turn. Pair it with Shiko and Narset to double up on value from every spell.
Veyran, Voice of Duality
Veyran doubles every triggered ability that triggers when you cast an instant or sorcery. Young Pyromancer makes two Elementals instead of one. Storm-Kiln Artist makes two Treasures. Archmage Emeritus draws two cards. Shiko and Narset's trigger fires twice. With Veyran on the battlefield, your spell chain produces twice the value at no additional cost. She's the deck's multiplier, and getting her down early changes the math of every subsequent turn.
Archmage Emeritus
Card draw that scales with your spell count. Archmage Emeritus draws a card every time you cast or copy an instant or sorcery. In this deck that is nearly every card you play, since it rarely casts creature spells outside of the key permanents. A single turn of casting five spells refills your hand and keeps your board. Combine with Veyran and you draw two cards per spell, enough to empty your library into your hand over a game.
Goblin Electromancer
Simple and effective cost reduction. Goblin Electromancer makes your instants and sorceries cost one less mana to cast. In a deck built to chain as many spells as possible in a single turn, saving one mana per spell buys you two or three extra spells you otherwise couldn't afford. It reads as harmless, which is exactly why it's dangerous. By the time opponents decide to kill it, you've already cast eight spells off it.
How to Play
Spend the first few turns deploying your permanent payoffs: Young Pyromancer, Storm-Kiln Artist, Goblin Electromancer. Get Shiko and Narset into play as soon as you can. From there, every turn you cast instants and sorceries the board grows with tokens, your hand refills through Archmage Emeritus, and your Treasure pile funds the next wave. Watch for the turns where Veyran doubles all your triggers, because that is when the deck goes from threatening to decisive. Win through a sudden lethal board of tokens, or close with a Shiko and Narset trigger storm that buries the table in value.
