Mechanics
Vivid
Vivid abilities scale with the number of colors among permanents you control, so a wider mana base is a bigger effect rather than just better fixing. It rewards playing all five colors honestly instead of splashing.
Wither
A source with wither deals damage to creatures as -1/-1 counters instead. That damage sticks, which is what turns the Jund deck combat math into a slow grind opponents cannot heal off.
Evoke
Pay the evoke cost to cast a creature for less, then sacrifice it as it enters. The Elemental deck treats evoke as a way to buy the enters the battlefield trigger at a discount, then gets the body back later.
Changeling
A changeling is every creature type at once. In a set built on tribes, changelings are the cards that let one deck count as several.
The set
Lorwyn Eclipsed returns to the tribal plane, and the Commander decks are built on the two ideas the set cares about most: counters that shrink things, and Elementals that come and go.
Vivid is the new ability word and the reason the five color deck exists. Everything scales with how many colors you have on the battlefield, so the mana base is part of the payoff rather than a tax on it. On the other side, wither and -1/-1 counters give the Jund deck a removal plan that doubles as a drain engine.
Evoke is what makes the Elemental deck function rather than flood. Paying less to get the enters the battlefield trigger and losing the body would be a bad deal in most decks, but here the tokens and recursion mean the creature usually comes back, so evoke is closer to a discount than a sacrifice.
The two decks also answer each other. One goes wide with large Elemental tokens, the other shrinks everything on the board. If you buy both, they play very differently against the same table, which is more than you can say for most two deck seasonal releases.
Where to start
Dance of the Elements is the flashier deck and the more expensive one to fix, since five colors want a real mana base. Blight Curse works out of the box and gets meaner with every -1/-1 counter payoff you add.
