Offspring
Pay the offspring cost as you cast a creature and a 1/1 token copy of it enters alongside. The copy still triggers enters the battlefield abilities, which is the whole point in the Jeskai deck.
Gift
A gift spell offers an opponent something, a card, a Fish, an extra turn, and gives you a bonus for making the offer. It is a political mechanic with a fixed price tag rather than a negotiation.
Expend
Expend counts the total mana spent on your turn and triggers once you cross a threshold. It rewards spreading your mana across several spells instead of dumping it into one.
Forestwalk and tribal payoffs
Bloomburrow is built around animal typal decks, so a lot of the set text checks creature types rather than colors. The Commander decks each pick a family and lean on it.
The set
Bloomburrow is the animal folk plane, and every deck in the set is a creature type deck first. The mechanics support that: offspring makes a second copy of the thing you just cast, and gift buys a small advantage by handing an opponent something they want.
Because the theme is typal, these decks are unusually easy to upgrade. Any Squirrel, Bird or Rabbit you already own probably slots in. The tradeoff is that the four decks play a lot like each other structurally: make bodies, then get paid for having bodies.
Where to start
Animated Army is the deck people keep, because animating enchantments is a plan you rarely see anywhere else. Squirreled Away is the safest pick if you just want a sacrifice deck that works on turn one out of the box.
